The Design

“A snug cap with a fun edge!”

It’s the finishing that makes the Pressed Rib Cap special! This cozy cap features simple, two-by-two ribbing that’s pressed flat to give the fabric a soft, elegant hand. The clean, classic look and finish has made it a perennial Churchmouse favorite. For this version, we decided to pop an accent color in a narrow band at the cap’s edge—just for fun! Next on our list, swapping the colors for a second hat!

We knit this Pressed Rib Cap in two, skein-dyed colors from Brooklyn Tweed ! Worsted-weight and spun from 100% Wyoming-grown Targhee-Columbia fleece, Shelter is multi-talented. Not only does it produce beautiful stitch definition, it’s got a nice, lofty spring thanks to its woolen-spun nature—perfect for this woolly cap.
